On Saturday, 8 August 2020, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Kaunas, on Baltijos street near No. 59, a car hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 15-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of a car, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
