On Sunday, 9 August 2020, in the evening at 17:15, in Švenčionių district municipality, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 72.70), a Mitsubishi Carisma rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.95‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
