On Thursday, 20 August 2020, in the morning at 8:21, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Sudmantų village, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 0.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Rover 75 and a Toyota RAV4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Rover (26 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.64‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
