On Friday, 4 September 2020, in the morning at around 8:00, in Vilnius, on Minties street, at the junction with Žirmūnų street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz and a Volkswagen Sharan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (19 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
