On Sunday, 27 September 2020, in the evening at around 20:00, in Skuodo district municipality, on the Skuodas–Plungė national road (kilometre 4.89), a Volkswagen hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 81-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (13 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
