On Monday, 2 November 2020, in the evening at 18:10, in Kaunas, on V. Krėvės pr. near No. 97, a BMW hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 36-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
