On Friday, 6 November 2020, in the evening at around 17:00, in Klaipėda, on Naikupės street, at the junction with Nidos street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Space Star and a Volkswagen GTI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She was drunk (1.51‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
