On Thursday, 17 December 2020, in the afternoon at 11:33, in Palanga, on Klaipėdos pl. near No. 48, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel and a Volkswagen Sharan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Opel (35 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
