On Wednesday, 13 January 2021, in the evening at 20:50, in Kauno district municipality, Rinkūnų village, on Jiesios street near No. 15, a Subaru Impreza hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Subaru (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.72‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
