On Tuesday, 19 January 2021, in the evening at 20:07, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 16.15), on a bridge, an Opel Astra Sports Tourer hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Opel (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
