On Saturday, 23 January 2021, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Chodkevičių street near No. 7, a BMW 116 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 56-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
