On Sunday, 31 January 2021, in the evening at 22:30, in Šalčininkų district municipality, Gornostajiškių village, on the Šalčininkai–Butrimonys–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 30.20), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Skoda Yeti. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.56‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered.
