On Thursday, 25 February 2021, in the evening at 21:16, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on J. Sniadeckio street near No. 11, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf registered in Latvia and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.98‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
