On Saturday, 27 February 2021, at night at 3:49, in Švenčionių district municipality, on Lentupio street near No. 16, a BMW hit an obstacle. Three people were injured — the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 19-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized) and a 18-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.47‰ blood alcohol). A 19-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.31‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
