On Thursday, 4 March 2021, in the evening at 19:23, in Jonavos district municipality, on Žemaitės street near No. 3, a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen NEW Beetle and a Derbi. Two people were injured — the 17-year-old driver of the Derbi (treated as an outpatient) and a 17-year-old passenger of the Derbi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
