On Saturday, 27 March 2021, in the evening at 21:30, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 24.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a MTZ Belarus-82.1, an Opel Antara, an Audi and a Taskento TG. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the MTZ (9 years of driving experience), who violated cargo-transport rules. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
