On Saturday, 24 April 2021, in the evening at 21:35, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 296), a Saab 9-5 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Saab (12 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
