On Saturday, 15 May 2021, in the morning at around 7:00, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Raubonys national road (kilometre 12.10), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Transporter, a MAN TGX registered in Latvia, a DE Kraker CF200 registered in Latvia and an Audi A6. Two people were injured — the 55-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and the 50-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (27 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
