On Wednesday, 16 June 2021, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Kartena–Kulupėnai–Salantai national road (kilometre 14), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a KTM and an Opel Signum. One person died — the 35-year-old driver of the KTM. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the KTM (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober.
