On Saturday, 19 June 2021, in the afternoon at 15:10, in Kaunas, on Vaidoto street, at the junction with Birutės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz A170 and a Nissan Qashqai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
