On Saturday, 19 June 2021, in the evening at around 20:00, in Vilnius, on Sakalaičių street, at the junction with Gervėbalės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Yamaha Neos and an Opel. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Yamaha, who failed to comply with road signs or markings. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
