On Friday, 23 July 2021, in the evening at 20:02, in Plungės district municipality, Varkalių village, on Kulių street, at the junction with Žemaičių street, a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Auris and a Yamaha. Two people were injured — the 16-year-old driver of the Yamaha (treated as an outpatient) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Yamaha (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Toyota (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
