On Tuesday, 27 July 2021, in the afternoon at 16:09, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Pagojė–Sedeikiai–Viešintos–Nociūnai national road (kilometre 12.30), a Seat Ibiza ran off the road. Four people were injured — a 9-year-old passenger of the Seat (treated as an outpatient), a 1-year-old passenger of the Seat (treated as an outpatient), a 12-year-old passenger of the Seat (treated as an outpatient) and a 51-year-old passenger of the Seat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Seat (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
