On Friday, 10 September 2021, in the evening at 21:30, in Šilutės district municipality, Gorainių village, on Vilties street, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a DAF and a bicycle. One person was injured — a 15-year-old cyclist (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the DAF (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
