On Sunday, 3 October 2021, in the evening at 20:31, in Telšių district municipality, on the Užventis–Varniai national road (kilometre 10.82), an Opel Astra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.67‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
