On Friday, 22 October 2021, in the afternoon at 15:18, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Grikštaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 287), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a BMW 1er Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW 320D (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
