On Tuesday, 16 November 2021, in the evening at 17:30, in Utenos district municipality, on the Pietrytinis Utenos aplinkkelis national road (kilometre 1.49), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a BMW 316I. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 80-year-old driver of the Opel (25 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
