On Saturday, 20 November 2021, at night at 23:20, in Trakų district municipality, on the Aukštadvaris–Vaickūniškės regional road (kilometre 3), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel and a Ford S-MAX. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.68‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
