On Wednesday, 1 December 2021, in the evening at 19:40, in Lazdijų district municipality, on Seinų street near No. 1, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
