On Saturday, 11 December 2021, in the evening at around 17:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on Žemaičių street, at the junction with Taurupio street, a Volkswagen Tiguan hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 84-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (32 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
