On Thursday, 16 December 2021, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street, at the junction with Mirtų street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 330D registered in Ukraine and a Volkswagen Jetta. Two people were injured — the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 4-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
