On Monday, 20 December 2021, in the evening at 17:58, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Ukmergė–Raguva–Nemėžis national road (kilometre 5.78), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Subaru Forester and a Citroen C5. Three people were injured — the 35-year-old driver of the Subaru (hospitalized), a 59-year-old passenger of the Subaru (hospitalized) and the 42-year-old driver of the Citroen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Subaru (14 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.58‰ blood alcohol). A 59-year-old passenger of the Subaru was drunk (1.55‰). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
