Drunk Volkswagen driver in crash with two other vehicles on the Ukmergė–Raguva–Nemėžis road
On Monday, 3 January 2022, in the afternoon at 12:30, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Ukmergė–Raguva–Nemėžis national road (kilometre 24.40), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Crafter, a Mazda 3 and a DAF. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.82‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
