On Wednesday, 26 January 2022, in the evening at 21:47, in Ukmergės district municipality, on S. Daukanto street near No. 49, a Saab hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Saab (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.94‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
