On Monday, 21 February 2022, in the evening at 18:28, in Kretingos district municipality, on Topolių aklg. street, at the junction with Savanorių street, a Volvo V50 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volvo (11 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
