On Tuesday, 22 February 2022, in the afternoon at 12:56, in Tauragės district municipality, on Prezidento street near No. 72, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a bicycle. One person was injured — a 36-year-old cyclist (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
