On Saturday, 26 February 2022, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Joniškio district municipality, on Upytės street near No. 19, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 and a Volkswagen Sharan registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 68-year-old driver of the Volvo (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
