On Wednesday, 9 March 2022, in the morning at around 7:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 70), a Mini Cooper D registered in Russia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Mini (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
