On Thursday, 10 March 2022, in the morning at 9:20, in Joniškio district municipality, on P. Cvirkos street, at the junction with Žemaitės street, a collision occurred. The collision involved a vehicle and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 30-year-old cyclist, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.30‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
