On Monday, 4 April 2022, in the evening at 17:30, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Joniškis–Žeimelis–Pasvalys national road, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a KIA Motors Sorento. Two people were injured — the 66-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (treated as an outpatient) and a 71-year-old passenger of the KIA Motors (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (2 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
