On Saturday, 23 April 2022, in the morning at around 9:00, in Pakruojo district municipality, on Saulėtekio street near No. 36, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Opel (45 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
