On Friday, 29 April 2022, in the morning at 7:18, in Kaunas, on Piliuonos street near No. 46, a Toyota RAV4 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 9-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Toyota (27 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
