On Monday, 2 May 2022, in the afternoon at 16:59, in Šiauliai, on Dubijos street near No. 1C, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Smart 0.6, a Volkswagen Tiguan, a Volvo XC70 and a BMW 520 registered in Great Britain. Two people were injured — a 7-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Smart, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
