On Tuesday, 3 May 2022, in the evening at 19:40, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on the Slabadai–Sūdava–Opšrūtai regional road (kilometre 0.98), a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a BMW 530. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.33‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
