On Wednesday, 4 May 2022, in the evening at 21:40, in Zarasų district municipality, on Malūno street near No. 4, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Carina and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 83-year-old driver of the Toyota (28 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
