On Wednesday, 11 May 2022, in the morning at 10:13, in Anykščių district municipality, on J. Biliūno street near No. 17, a Nissan Almera Tino hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 75-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (2.07‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
