On Tuesday, 24 May 2022, at night at around 23:00, in Joniškio district municipality, on Žemaičių street near No. 67, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Corolla and a Wielton. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Toyota, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.16‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
