On Wednesday, 18 May 2022, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Telšių district municipality, Didžiojo Palūksčio village, on the Telšiai–Varniai–Laukuva national road (kilometre 38), a Jeep Grand Cherokee ran off the road. One person was injured — a 73-year-old passenger of the Jeep (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Jeep (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
