On Friday, 22 July 2022, in the evening at around 20:00, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Marijampolė–Liudvinavas–Krosna national road (kilometre 5), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a KTM and an Opel Astra. One person was injured — the 17-year-old driver of the KTM (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the KTM (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
