On Sunday, 14 August 2022, in the morning at 6:47, in Mažeikių district municipality, Skuodiškių village, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 16.60), a Saab ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Saab (3 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.57‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
